Not such a long time ago, is it?
Barbara Brockell was the firstperson to bring in her completed"mad alchemist cabinet" from the recent Michael DeMeng workshop here.
I asked her about a theme and she toldme about her "alchemy" inspired piece.Included in each distressed & painted niche' are special collected itemssuch as tools from her grandfather, rocks such as fools gold, mercury switches, chemistry bottles, electrical elementsand much, much more.
Interestingly enough she added a paper doll which really createda focal point, tucked lovingly inside and behind some wire.
Barbara worked "outside" the proverbial boxon her piece with an added roof, created froma picture frame andthe long chains of coupled wired attached to the bottom.
